Tatiana Korinfsky will premiere a new one act play titled: The Chess Game

The Chess Game takes place in 1970s on the outskirts of London. The story begins with a married couple, Penelope and Arthur, and revolves around their anticipation and eventual arrival of an old school friend, Winston. It is later revealed there is more nuance to the inter-relationships of the three friends than previously thought.

Penelope played by Mary Karl

Arthur played by Mark Loughney

Winston played by Ryan Hartley

This new work has been developed at HB Studio as part of a Breakthrough Lab under the mentorship of Snezhana Chernova. The program will also feature additional works in progress by HB Studio students. The program is estimated to run two hours.

"Even the best ideas often require a little push forward to get started. HB Studio's Breakthrough Lab provides the impetus neededto take a project from the hypothetical into completion. HB teaching artist Snezhana Chernova helps her students realize a multitude of creative concepts, including screenplays, play, podcast, livestreams, monologues or scenes, TV pilots, scores and feature films. At this free culminating showcase, Chernova's summer class will present their work in its current state of process to a live audience for the first time."
